The Facilities

Breeder Pens

The Non-Typical Ranch Breeding Facility consists of 88 pens, spread over 60 acres that is set up to optimize the productivity of the deer and reduce the stress for the animals.  All feed, water, and shelter has been strategically placed for the benefit of our deer, which translates into a better product for you.  Movement of deer from pen to pen, or pen to Handling Facility is as simple as changing a few gates.

Handling Facility

The handling facility at The Non-Typical Ranch was built with the animals in mind.  We have enclosed hay storage, intern apartment, ranch office, medication and supply room, 13 sorting rooms, working chute, load-out chute, prep room and surgery room.  The design of the building and alleys leading up to the working areas come from many years of trial and error of working whitetail deer.

This design was built to be a very safe and efficient way to handle our deer.  Animals are brought into the building with their safety first and foremost in our minds.  Weaning, yearly vaccinations, antler cutting in the fall and artificial inseminations all work like clockwork due to the design of our facilities and the experience of our staff.  Give us a call and stop by to for a tour and see what our breeding operation has to offer.
